-I did everything you see. Base model Maya, base Sculpt Zbrush, No detail or Texture yet. Rigged in Maya, No Correctives or Jiggle yet, rigs about half done. Will probably complete the Sculpt Details and textures first and then do the final steps. This was a test to make sure the current rig direction I was heading would hold up, Happy with it so far šŸ™‚

Another one of Blizzards awesome cinematics!

So here’s the video that convinced me I NEEDED the special edition of Diablo 3, this led to a 9 hour wait in front of Best Buy, happy to report that I got it šŸ˜‰ Blizzard is by far one of my favorite studios for Cinematics, its a long time dream of mine to become part of that team, hopefully i’ll be ready to apply sometime soon and then maybe one day I can post some of their Cinematics I’ve been apart of.

Although I never played this game I loved this trailer. Some seriously awesome work went into this!

This guy keeps coming out with so many cool videos that I will keep posting them, with all his hard work he deserves as much exposure as he can get!

This guy always does such cool things with his particle systems! Really want to get into this at some point but as you can see it takes some serious talent… Think ill wait for Fume FX to make its way into Maya before I give it a go. Go to his Youtube page and like it!

Such an amazingĀ pieceĀ of inspiration that I had to share. Inspires me to get better so one day I can do something as beautiful as this.

Such an awesome trailer!!! I remember in 2005 when I was in school a teacher showed this to me, I was inspired then and still am to this day. Would like to do a short war reel like this with a collaboration of artists, if anyone’s interested let me know and we can talk about it for a future project šŸ™‚

I remember when i saw this trailer, it blew my mind, was a massive inspiration for my days back in school. Obviously some stuff is out dated now(The FlameThrower especially) but still for that time people were blown and away.

This was another good one when I was back in school

This is another scene I helped light and Comp for a friend of mine, Vlad Haintz. The initialĀ  light rig I setup to push the shot in the right direction artistically, it was Vlad that took the time to set up extra lights as well as position them the way he desired. If you want to see more of Vlads work you can check it out here.

To light the shot I used Maya and Mental Ray. NO FG or IBL stuff here. I comped with Nuke and used Volume Rays for the effect coming in the window… Love that effect!!

Here’s a cool project I got to help out on. Jared Trevisan took the time to model this Living Room and asked for some help with the Lighting and Comp. Love working on sets that are already built, not a big fan of modeling anymore.

This was Lit in Maya and comped with Nuke, its all direct lighting(so no GI, FG or IBL). Took me 2 hours to get to this stage.

As you can see there are no textures and I’m sure Jared will do more work on the set.Ā HopefullyĀ what I threw together will help guide him in the right direction for this and future projects.

Thought I would load a quick result I got in Vray. This is not even close to a final result but quite happy with how it looks so far. Its strange but Vray just seems to give better results with less effort, Mental ray requires that you fight with it constantly trying to get anything to work properly. Just my opinion though… Whats yours???

Right now I’m finishing up the final Camaro model and will post results soon, as well I built a cool under ground tunnel for it to drive through, should make for a kick ass short.
